This info comes from JW005: James Wilson's chief claim to fame (or lack of it) is that he was the only delegate to favor presidential election by simple majority vote. The concept was a radical departure for the delegates, who felt there should be some separation between the people and their leader, and the Electoral College (a compromise) was eventually voted in.
